Luís Pessoa
Senior Researcher
Optical and Electronic Technologies Group @ INESC TEC

I am a researcher in the OET group in INESC TEC. I received the “Licenciatura” degree in 2006 and PhD degree in 2011, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the
Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.

Currently I’m responsible for the conception and management of R&D projects, coordination of research students and fostering the valorization of research results through new contracts with industry.
Previously I coordinated and collaborated to an european research project called
DAPHNE: developing photonic aircraft networks. Our contribution was essentially related with theoretical studies, experimental performance analysis and prototype construction/demonstration, specially concerning radio-frequency-over-fibre (RoF) transmission. I also cooperated with a national project led by University of Algarve, WOWi - Wireless-optical-wireless interfaces for pico-cellular access networks.

My main research interests include:
Coherent optical systems, digital signal processing, radio-over-fibre, RF/microwave devices, antennas and propagation, underwater wireless power/communications.

I’m always open to collaborate with other students and researchers as well as establishing new partnerships with industry, so please feel free to contact me!
